Stimulate the senses.....with aromatic and healing herbs

Surround yourself with herbs and benefit from their aromatic fragrance and healing powers.

If you plant a container of herbs during late spring you'll be enjoying tasty leaves for the rest of the summer.

Choose herbs you use most in cooking and salads because you are then more likely to pick them regularly leading to plenty of healthy new growth.

When planting in a container it is a good idea to combine herbs that originate from the same region to ensure they like similar growing conditions. Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary sage and thyme are drought tolerant and love poor soil.

Choose a soil based compost like John Innes No.1 or No.2 and mix in some grit to ensure that they have good drainage.
