Bright red young foliage follows which matures to dark green with white margins
This plant likes a sheltered position in light shade with lime-free or acid soil
It can be planted in a container with ericaceous compost if the soil in your garden is alkaline
Keep the plant well watered until established
Each spring add a fertilizer and mulch the root area to retain moisture.
