Eye catching carnivorous plant with unusually tall lime-green pitchers which can reach up to 90cm in optimal conditions
In the UK they can be kept indoors, in an unheated greenhouse or in a bog garden outside
As a houseplant choose a bright, sunny, south facing windowsill
They require a special mix of peat moss, perlite and sphagnum moss, but if you go peat free they will require close monitoring and probably more water
They like to be consistently moist as they originate from boggy wetlands and they only like rainwater or distilled water. Tap water has a lot of minerals in it that can harm the roots over time
They catch there own food in the pitchers
In winter they do require a cooler position to rest and reset before spring
Outdoors they thrive well in a bog garden
However, an unheated greenhouse is one of the best options as it provides the best balance of light, humidity and seasonal temperature change
