Trainee/Junior Chef

We are seeking a junior or trainee Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will either have existing experience in a commercial kitchen or be training to become a chef at College. You will be responsible for cooking and meal preparation, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety and quality. Must be able to work as part of a team in a growing, fast paced friendly environment. Willing to learn and grow, bring new ideas and skills to increase productivity and have a passion for food. 

Duties

• Prepare and cook hot and cold meals, sandwiches, pastries etc.

• Ensure all food is prepared and stored in accordance with food safety regulations.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.

• Collaborate with front-of-house staff and work as part of a team to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.

• Kitchen open and close duties.

Join our team and be part of an exciting culinary experience! We offer a balanced working schedule that allows for family and social time; our coffee shop opening hours are Mon-Sat 9am-5pm (including bank holidays) and Sunday 10am-4pm.

This is a full time position including weekends

Skills and Experience Required

Experience of working in a kitchen.  Attention to detail in food presentation, ability to work under pressure and cook to order.

Full time, permanent, alternate weekend working, 16-24 hours
