Coffee Shop Manager

About the role

We are now recruiting for an experienced Catering Manager to manage Plant House Coffee at Betchworth.

You will have great attention to detail, a passion for food and great customer service. This role will be accountable for the profitability and sales growth of the department and you will report to the Garden Centre operations Manager. You will be responsible for strategic decision making in the catering department, managing menu changes and price setting, liaising effectively with our Nags Hall centre to ensure there is consistency. You will ensure our standards are upheld and adhered to at all times and you will make sure that company catering and customer service standards are consistently delivered. The role will also be accountable for health and safety ensuring all COSHH and Food Hygiene standards are upheld and adhered to at all times.

The role will involve hands on kitchen and front of house service where required to ensure smooth running of operations. The chefs and Front of House Supervisor will report to you and you will oversee performance management, staff training, rotas, sickness and interview and select the right staff for any vacancies. Our coffee shop open hours are Mon-Sat 9am-5pm (including bank holidays) and Sunday 10am-4pm.

Skills and Experience Required

Demonstrated experience working in the catering industry and as a Catering Manager, strong knowledge of food preparation, safety standards, and kitchen operations, excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively, exceptional communication skills for interacting with customers and team members, experience in menu planning and event coordination is preferred
