It has an upright spreading habit with upwardly growing short stems, the tips of which bear short, silvery blue-green needles
These are stiff and produced in groups of five, about 3cm long and slightly curved or twisted, giving a ruffled texture
Plant in well drained soils, preferably neutral to acidic in full sun
They are perfect for a small city or courtyard garden where a focal point is needed
Also useful for rock gardens, containers, beds and borders
Low maintenance as no pruning is required
Drought tolerant once established
